The self-driving UV disinfection robots are being sent to more than 2000 hospitals.

Technology developed by UVD Robots is being deployed in Chinese hospitals to help limit the spread of coronavirus. The self-driving robot uses UV-C light emission to disinfect and kill viruses, bacteria and other potentially dangerous organisms. Under an agreement between UVD Robots and Sunay Healthcare Supply, the robots will be sent to more than 2000 hospitals in all Chinese provinces.

The robot was developed in 2014 when hospitals in Denmark wanted a more effective method to lower infection rates. The technology was introduced into the market in 2018. It is currently available in 40 countries, including the United States.
