The two new members bring more than 40 years of leadership and IT experience to the HUMA.AI advisory boards, following a recent round of funding and the introduction of new post-market surveillance technologies.

Huma.AI, a developer of machine learning technology solutions for the life sciences, has appointed Karen Drexler to its board of directors and Jean-Olivier ‘J-O’ Racine to its strategic advisory board.

Drexler is the former CEO of Sandstone DX, developer of portable centrifugal technology for at-home and point of care plasma and serum collection, and an inventor with 11 issued patents. She was named Female Entrepreneur of the Year by the Stevie Awards in 2013 and Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year by Silicon Valley Women’s Fund in 2002. Drexler also serves as an independent director for ResMed and is active in Astia and Springboard, nonprofit organizations that support female entrepreneurs.

Racine brings more than 20 years of experience in Enterprise IT to the board. He is the chief technology officer at Outset Medical, and formerly served as the head of engineering and science for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Health AI.

With more than 40 years of combined experience in medtech and health care, they will help guide Huma.AI’s continued growth. The company recently secured $9.5 million in capital and added new post-market surveillance (PMS) capacity to its AI-based healthcare data knowledge platform.

“We’re thrilled to add these groundbreaking leaders to our two boards,” said Lana Feng, Ph.D., CEO and co-founder of Huma.AI. “They are value-creating changemakers in this era of rapid convergence of health and technology. The breadth and depth of their expertise and track records make them uniquely suited to help guide Huma.AI as we continue on a path of strategic growth and expansion.”
